Brenda meets Councillor Clyde Loakes

Council Leader cycles in and spins a vinyl tale from his youth.

Clyde Loakes Leader of the Council and the Labour group from the Leytonstone Ward with StreetLife FM’s Miss Brenda.

Streetlife FM listeners were given a double response to the rock n roll and sporting claims of previous “Meet the Councillor” guests as Councillor Loakes sped into Streetlife central a la Tour de France with a bulging pannier full of vinyl gems.

Whilst bringing a “magic touch” via a Northern soul classic Councillor Loakes did confess to a less than glittering career as a musician. A rugby fan and Orient follower the Councillor did however feel his energies have been more constructively channeled in the direction of politics.

Currently taking time off from employment in the civil service to devote time as leader of the council Councillor Loakes went on to give some of his views on the provision of youth services in the borough, as well as aspects of the Olympic impact and legacy on Waltham Forest.

No sooner had he finished the programme, and declared his admiration for the project, than Councillor Loakes was astride his two wheeled mount peddling off into the sunset flushed with an afterglow that only Streetlife FM can provide.
