Borough Police Commander Mark Benhow
Borough Commander turns up with a progressive view.

Borough Police Commander Mark Benbow with Streetlife FM Presenter Miss Brenda.
In contrast to a uniform stereotype, Mark Benbow, the borough’s top “five oh” showed a rather long haired taste in what was once called progressive music for those of a certain age. Genesis (in the Gabriel era), the Eagles and most alarmingly Marillion (Fish!) were amongst the top cops’ list of favourites from his teenage years. Miss Brenda was certainly a captive audience to the Commander's musical taste as she heard things she had never heard before.
In amongst Miss Brenda's journey through uncharted musical territory she found Commander Benbow a talkative and enthusiastic supporter of positive interventions to enhance the relationship between the police and young people. Clearly her interrogation of the man in blue had no requirement for a bad cop to get to the facts as he enthused and informed Streetlife FM listeners both of his taste in music and the role of a Borough Commander.
The only disappointment in this historic programme was Commander Benbows when he realised he had left his copy of Pink Floyds "Dark side of the Moon" at home. This tragedy not withstanding Commander Benbow declared his support and best wishes for the Streetlife FM team and promised to return soon – especially if he could bring some more music to continue Miss Brenda's musical education.
