Choice FM Trip 2007

The Streetlife Fm team went to the Gcap centre in Leicester Square to visit the Choice Fm studios.

Gcap Media is one of the biggest media providers in the country and the centre in Leicester Square is the home of its radio stations. As well as Choice Fm being part of the company, the Gcap centre also houses several other stations from specialist station like Classic Fm and Xfm to mainstream radio such as Capital Fm.

As we were appearing on the Weekend Vibe with Rollo (Wayne Rollins) and Pamela B (who has now been replaced with Hannah), the day started at 7:30 in the morning.

30 minutes later, we were in the studios watching the DJs at work. The trip had been organised by former Choice presenter Geoff Shuman which the aim for the Streetlife Fm team to get some valuable learning experience for the running of our own station.

In the studios we had 1st hand experience of how a studio works and the important use of communication between the presenters so the show ran smoothly. We were also given the opportunity to go on live radio. As well as watching the presenters in action, we tucked into some Ben and Jerry doughnuts.

Before we left the studio, we bumped into Angie Le Mar who was preparing for her 9am show.
